Kartini Anwar is a lecturer in the Malay Language Division of the Asian Languages & Cultures Academic Group, National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She teaches subjects on Malay literature such as Classical and Modern Malay Literature, Indonesian Literature, Children’s and Adolescent’s Literature, Literary Criticism, Dramatization of Literary Texts, and The Teaching of Malay Literature. She serves in the Malay Language Council of Singapore, Southeast Asian Literature Council (MASTERA) to promote the development of Malay Language and Literature in the region and beyond. She had served in the H1ML Syllabus Review Steering Committee, Ministry of Education and IMDA Arts Consultative Panel. Dr Kartini is also a consultant for National Arts Council (Presentation and Participation Grant) and National Library Board Malay Reading Advisory Panel. Kartini is also involved in academic and literary editorial works and judging panel of a number of literary awards.
