Katharine McGregor is Senior Lecturer at the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies, University of Melbourne. Her first book was History in Uniform: Military Ideology and the Construction of the Indonesian Past (NUS Press, 2007). She completed work on this edited volume as part of an Australian Research Council-funded project, “Islam and the Politics of Memory in Post-Authoritarian Indonesia”.
