Mat Rofa Ismail

Mat Rofa Ismail is a Malaysian academic specializing in mathematics and the philosophy of science. Born in 1956 in Kelantan, he earned his BSc in Mathematics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (1979) and an MSc from the University of Wales (1982). He later obtained a PhD in Philosophy and History of Mathematics from Universiti Malaya (1993). A long-serving lecturer at Universiti Putra Malaysia, he has contributed extensively to ethno-mathematics and logic. His book Mantik dan Etnomantik won the 2014 Karya Ilmiah Award. Mat Rofa is also a prominent speaker on mathematics, philosophy, and Islamic thought.
