Rashila Ramli
Rashila Ramli is a distinguished Malaysian political scientist and academic leader. She serves as a Principal Fellow and Professor of Political Science at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, where she previously held the position of Director. Her academic journey includes a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Western Illinois University, an MBA in General Management, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Northern Arizona University.
Rashila’s research focuses on political development, gender and politics, and human security. She has led significant projects on social inclusion and human security in the Asia-Pacific region. Her professional roles encompass serving as President of the Malaysian Social Science Association (PSSM) and as a Regional Council member of the Asia Pacific Forum for Women, Law, and Development (APWLD). In recognition of her contributions, she was conferred the Darjah Setia Bakti Negeri Sembilan (DBNS) award in 2017, granting her the title Dato’.
