Sally White

Sally White is a senior research associate in the College of Asia and the Pacific at the Australian National University, where she gained a PhD in Indonesian history. Her main research interests are the historical development of ideas concerning Islam and gender in Indonesia and their contemporary manifestations. Her current research is focused on women and gender among jihadist groups in Indonesia. She is a co-editor (with Greg Fealy) of Expressing Islam: Religious Life and Politics in Indonesia (ISEAS, 2008).
