Susan Blackburn

Susan Blackburn is Associate Professor in the School of Political and Social Inquiry at Monash University. She teaches Southeast Asian Politics, supervises postgraduate students, and conducts research, mainly concerning Asian women. Her publications include Women and the State in Modern Indonesia (Cambridge University Press, 2004), The First Indonesian Women’s Congress of 1928 (Monash University Press, 2008) and “Feminism and the Women’s Movement in the World’s Largest Islamic Nation” (in Women’s Movements in Asia: Feminisms and Transnational Activism, ed. Mina Roces and Louise Edwards, Routledge, 2010).
