Welyne Jeffrey Jehom

Welyne Jeffrey Jehom is a senior lecturer in the Gender Studies Program at the University of Malaya. Her research focuses on issues of gender in the context of development in Malaysia, particularly concerning the displacement of indigenous communities in Sarawak because of development programmes. Her latest publication is “Compensation Crisis on Adat Land and Properties: State vs. Natives” (in Negotiating Local Governance: Natural Resources Management at the Interface of Communities and the State, ed. Irit Eguavoen and Wolfram Laube, LIT Verlag, 2010).
