Kawah Buku and DISKOPI Denounce the Act of Cowardice by Hidden Hands to Obstruct Hishamuddin Rais from Speaking at Sekolah Malam 20 November 2018

We have been forced to cancel our Sekolah Malam event tonight, “Reformasi Struktural: Mahathir vs. Anwar lagi?” for which social activist Hishamuddin Rais is scheduled as a speaker.

We believe this act of cowardice by certain parties, especially those in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), to deny the very rights of students and lecturers to participate in intellectual discourse as displayed tonight is totally against the very spirit of Malaysia Baru.

We apologise to attendees for all inconveniences caused by tonight’s dismayed democracy.
