Israeli Regime Commits Act of Maritime Piracy: Outrage Over Attack on Global Sumud Flotilla By: Communications Office • 2 October 2025 • Press Release
We are outraged by the illegal act of aggression and state-sponsored piracy committed by the Israeli regime against the civilian vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters. These ships were carrying desperately needed humanitarian aid to the starving population of Gaza, and their mission was purely non-violent.
Among the dozens of detained humanitarian workers and volunteers from various nations, including Malaysian citizens, are parliamentarians, doctors, and other high-profile figures, all of whom were engaged in a selfless mission of mercy.
This military interception of a non-violent, purely humanitarian mission constitutes a grave violation of international maritime law and is an unacceptable act of state-sponsored piracy. It is a deliberate and cynical obstruction of aid to a population facing famine and genocide by the State of Israel, demonstrating a profound disregard for human life and international norms.
We demand the immediate and unconditional release of all detained humanitarian workers and volunteers. Furthermore, we demand the safe and unimpeded passage of the Global Sumud Flotilla and its cargo to its intended destination.
The international community, including the United Nations, must hold the Israeli regime accountable for this illegal act of aggression and ensure that humanitarian aid is never weaponized or blocked. The world is watching.
