Geetha Govindasamy

Geetha Govindasamy is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of East Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya. She obtained her M. Phil in Oriental Studies from Queens’ College Cambridge University, MA in International Relations from the International University of Japan and a PhD in International Relations from Monash University. She is a member of MAJAS and the Malaysian Scholars on Korea (MASK) Network. She has also been a member of MJRC since its establishment in 2012 until today. She teaches and publishes on inter-Korean relations, Korean foreign policy and East Asian international relations. Her current research is on the historical linkages between Malaya with East Asia before the Second World War. Due to her links with East Asian countries, she is the recipient of Korea Foundation and Sumitomo Foundation research grants.
