Kaori Kimura

Kaori Kimura is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of East Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Universiti Malaya. She obtained her doctoral degree in Japanese Applied Linguistics from Waseda University in 2019. Her research interests include international education, culture, society, and language education in Japan, as well as language education policy in Malaysia. She used to teach the Japanese language to students under the LEP preparatory course. Currently, she teaches an introduction to Japanese culture ranging from daily life to work culture and Japanese business communication skills to students. Moreover, she conducts workshops for Japanese language teachers’ self-directed training in Malaysia, face-to-face and online. She has published a book titled Japanese Language Teachers’ Book 34 Teaching Japanese Language for Malay Speakers (2021), and several articles in journals, book chapters, and proceedings.
