Paul Francis Knitter

Paul Francis Knitter is professor of theology emeritus at Xavier University, Cincinnati. He received a licentiate in theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (1966) and a doctorate from the University of Marburg, Germany (1972). Most of his research and publications have dealt with religious pluralism and interreligious dialogue, He is also general editor of Orbis Books’ Faith Meets Faith series. Over the past fifteen years, Knitter has also been active in various peace groups working in El Salvador, especially Christians for Peace in El Salvador (CRISPAZ). He is also on the board of directors for the International Interreligious Peace Council.
