Rokiah Paee

Rokiah Paee is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Language and Communication (FLC) University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Japanese Literature from Shizuoka University, Japan, an MA in Japanese Language and Culture from the National Graduate Research Institute for Policy Studies, Japan, and a PhD in Educational Psychology from University Sains Malaysia. She also obtained a diploma in Japanese Language Education from The Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, Urawa, Japan, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning from UNIMAS. She is one of the coordinators for the Japanese language courses at FLC since 2008 and was the coordinator for the third language section from 2020-2022. Her research interests are in second and foreign language acquisition, particularly related to Japanese Language teaching and learning. She is also interested in areas of translation and interpretation. She has written several articles related to Japanese language acquisition. She is a committee member of the Japanese Language Instructors Society (MAJLIS).
