Tan Soo Kee

Tan Soo Kee is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of East Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in East Asian studies from UM, Master of International Studies (major International Business) from Ewha Womens University and PhD of International Studies (major International Commerce) from Seoul National University. She has been with Universiti Malaya since 2004. Currently, she holds the position of Head of Department of East Asian Studies. She is a member of MAJAS as well a member of the MJRC since its establishment in 2012 until today. Her research interests relate to economic culture, international business, cross culture and economic policy. Her recent publications include Global Pandemic, Technology Booms and New Business Trends: The Case of Japan (2021); State Supports and Competitiveness of Industry: The Shipbuilding Industry in Korea (2020) and Growing Competitiveness of China ‘s Manufacturers and its Challenges to South Korea (2018).
