Sharon Seah Li-Lian

Sharon Seah Li-Lian graduated with Honours from the Department of Sociology, National University of Singapore, in 1999. Her chapter is drawn from research conducted for her Honours thesis, which won the 1999 Chng Heng Lay Memorial Prize. Her main interests are issues of history, memory, truth, narratives, and feminist works. She has contributed to a collection of essays based on “Ways of Seeing”, a workshop on Southeast Asian history and art, jointly conducted by the University of New South Wales and the National University of Singapore in February 2000. Currently, she is working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore.
